Crews were called to the intersection of Labrador Road and Mortlake-Ararat Road at 3.30pm Thursday.
Duty Officer Owen Tudball said the fire burnt approximately six hectares between Mortlake-Ararat Road and Hopkins Creek to the east.
"There was nil asset or property damage and nil injuries," he said.
"Crews are currently on scene and the fire is under control. They are mopping it to fully extinguish the fire."
Mr Tudball said it took crews about 30 minutes to contain the fire, and six tankers from Maroona, Tatyoon, Willaura, Langi Logan and Ararat attended.
"There was also some air support from the two bombers from Stawell who assisted in suppression activities," he said.
"Fire investigators are on scene to establish the cause, with no confirmation of that detail as yet."
Residents said that there was damage to cars and caravans but the Country Fire Authority and Victoria Police, who were also on site, were unable to confirm by the time this story was published.
