Ararat Rats swimming coach Steve Maddocks said it was a good performance.
“We had 34 swimmers on the day and they all swam admirably,” he said.
Ivana Donnan came out in first place in all four of her events, which included the 100-metre breastroke, 100-metre backstroke, 100-metre freestyle and 200-metre breaststroke. Eoghan Purser also won the 50-metre backstroke and his 50 metre freestyle.
The under-eight team also won their relay for Ararat.
Stawell Stingrays president John Knight said it was another strong showing by the club’s swimmers with Alexis Collins, Tanesha Knight, Kai Knight, Zali Harrison, Ashley Hutton and Charlie Walker all recording multiple personal best times.
“Like we say, it doesn’t matter if you don’t win the race; I want them to concentrate on beating your last personal best,” he said.
