The iconic event will celebrate its 57th anniversary in 2019 and will be held at Wimmera Events Centre on March 5, 6 and 7.
Manager Murray Wilson said the 34-strong committee would hold working bees every weekend until the event to prepare the site.
“Everything is in full swing to get the site ready for the event. Exhibitors are at capacity in the agribusiness centre, so we’re putting up a marquee this year to accommodate,” he said.
“The machinery dealers will be given more space so they will be able to bring more machinery onto their sites. Some of the key dealers will also be changing locations so we’ll be having a fresh approach to everything this year.”
He said the committee was still planning its major attractions and events, but promised a jam-packed schedule.
“There will be plenty of things happening across the three days, including demonstrations, live music and entertainment, fashion parades and helicopter rides,” he said.
“We will be holding our Field Days for the Kids again with activities and a meet and greet with George the Farmer on Wednesday.”
One of the major changes for this year’s event is the introduction of a Twilight Day which will be held on Tuesday, March 5. The site will be open until 7pm, with entry free after 3pm.
Mr Wilson said it would allow more people to visit the site.
“This is the first time that we’ve done something like this. We want to give everyone the opportunity to come and experience field days, especially those who can’t get there during the day because of work,” he said.
“It will also be a great chance for families to come out to the event together. There will be a range of special attractions during the evening to attract people here.
“It will also be an opportunity for people who don’t know a lot about agriculture to learn more. The Twilight Day is also really being embraced by the exhibitors.”
