Grampians dropped all four games from Monday to Thursday, but were very competitive in three of the four Division Two contests.
GCA captain Sam Cocks said it was “disappointing” not to get a win but he saw positive signs during the week.
“We lost some really quality players from last season so to go in with a relatively new group and put in some solid performances was really good,” he said.
“In the end we we probably lacked the front line bowling to make a real impact, it is a pretty big week and we probably could have done with a couple of other bowlers to share the load.”
The team scored more than 700 runs from the four games, a solid effort for a team that didn’t win a game.
Cocks led the way with the bat, notching four half centuries for 231 runs to top the Division Two run-scoring list.
”Being captain and what not you want to try and put your best foot forward, lead from the front and get a few runs,” he said.
“It was good to get a few on the board and have a a few guys follow suit.”
Leg spinner Lachie Oddie was the pick of the Grampians bowlers, with his 13 wickets earning him the title of lead wicket-taker for the division.
“Lachie bowled really well over the four days. Wnew what we were going to get from him every time we threw him the ball,” Cocks said.
We feel we were competitive...

Cocks said he is unsure whether the lack of wins means his side will drop back to Division Three for next year, saying he would stay in the higher tier if given the choice.
“If we could we would stay there (Division Two),” he said.
“We feel we were competitive and could have been a real force had a few things gone our way.
“Overall it was a pretty good week and I’d like to thank everyone that made themselves available to play.”
