Secretary-treasurer Greg Robson said when works were being conducted in Main Street during 2018 the group approached Northern Grampians Shire Council in regards to the historic item.
“We know the post box has been in the location of the corner of Patrick and Main Streets since before 1880,” he said.
“We have a photo dated with that year and you can see it in the bottom right-hand corner, in front of the Club Hotel, now the Gallery Cafe.
“We didn’t know what was going to happen to it during the redevelopment.”
Mr Robson said the group was then in contact with Australia Post.
“We let them know our intentions,” he said.
“As it was surplus to their requirements they said they would donate it to us if we would like it.
“It’s all restored now and on show at the Pleasant Creek Historical Precinct next to another post box from town.”
Mr Robson said thanks needs to go out to the organisations and individuals who made the relocation and restoration possible.
