Mrs Pitcher has taken on the responsibility of resorting a loved family car, a project her father, John Anselmi wasn’t able to do before his death in December 2017.
Mr Anselmi received the 1958 Holden Station wagon as a wedding present from his parents. Most Stawell residents would remember Mr Anselmi as the science and math teacher at the high school.
If anyone comes along to these events they need to ask the owners about the stories behind the car

Mrs Pitcher said the family spent over 12 months scouring through the collection of ‘treasures’ Mr Anselmi collected over the years, which covered the car in storage.
“Dad always intended to restore the car but never got there before he passed away,” she said.
“A canary was put on the car in the early 80s and since then it has been off the road. Dad knew what needed to be fixed – but I guess it was a project that was put to the side.”
Always tinkering around with projects, Mrs Pitcher said Mr Anselmi liked to maintain his own car.
“The original engine was still in the shed,” she said. “We are hoping to restore that engine and put it back into the car.
“Once we start stripping off some bits it will give us a good idea on how to best tackle to project.”
Mrs Pitcher said her story, like many car enthusiasts, was the reason show ‘n’ shine events were so fascinating.
“If anyone comes along to these events they need to ask the owners about the stories behind the car,” she said.
“They are always nice to look at but the story behind each one is just as special.”
Part of Stawell’s Main Street will be closed from 4pm till 8.30pm as about 100 classic and collectable vehicles are on display.
A highlight of the event will be the attendance of Peter Brock’s 05 Commodore which Allan Moffat crashed driving at Bathurst in 1986. This will be the first time the car will be on display to the public.
The vehicles including tractors and motorbikes will be displayed along both sides of Lower Main Street. The club has organised a street performer and sausage sizzle.
