The Country Fire Authority has declared that Friday will be a Total Fire Ban for the entire state.
No fires can be lit in the open air in the region between one minute past midnight and 11.59pm on January 4.
The fire authority has advised residents that the fire danger rating for the region was extreme.
People living in areas at risk of fire are advised to activate their bush fire plan.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a very hot and sunny day with daytime temperatures reaching 44 degrees.
There will be northeasterly winds at 15 to 25 kilometres an hour tending northwesterly at 30 to 35 kilometres an hour in the middle of the day. Winds will tend south to southwesterly at 25 to 40 kilometres an hour with stronger squalls in the evening.
