The event was originally scheduled for Boxing Day but due to rising temperatures organisers postponed the event to Saturday.
Temperatures were predicted to rise above 36 degrees and club chief communications officer Ellen Werry said a decision was made around duty of care.
“The heat was a contributing factor to the move. We don’t play when it gets too hot under our duty of care,” she said.

More than 46 players took to the green and competed in two games of 12 ends.
Laurie Milikin, Ellen Werry and skipper Terry Ellis were outright winners on the day.
Runners up were skipper Andrew Sharp with Garry Pianta, Kerry West and Frank Reading.
Mrs Werry said it was a great day in a relaxed atmosphere.
“It was wonderful to see people supporting the club and enjoying the history the club is founded on,” she said.
Stawell Bowling Club was incorporated in 1893 on April 13.
