Parks Victoria in conjunction with emergency services will host a visitor safety briefing at the Grampians on Friday.
The “Be Safe, Be Prepared” session from 9am-12pm at the Wonderland carpark will touch on crucial things visitors need to take into account when visiting the Grampians this summer.
Topics such as heat health, inland water safety, walking preparedness, emergency markers, rescues and bushfire awareness will be discussed.
Seasonal park staff will run further ‘in park pop ups’ throughout January aimed at walker preparedness and heat health.
“Summer is a very busy time for visitation in Grampians National Park, as well as for Rangers and Emergency Services," Parks Victoria Grampians ranger team leader Tammy Schoo said.
“A bit of awareness and preparedness can go a long way in reducing the number of callouts and incidents and can ensure that park visitors have a fun and safe experience while exploring our wonderful park.”
