The mural was a community project created with contributions from the Northern Grampians Shire Council, Grampians Community Health, Victoria Police and other community organisations.
A Crime Prevention Victoria grant allocated earlier this year helped get the artwork complete.
The Re-engaging Into Secondary Education program and the mural play a part in educating children and teenagers on the difference between urban art and vandalism, and how the latter impacts on local businesses and the community at large.
The program also educates children about various offences, penalties, police search powers and the potential impacts of a criminal record.
Northern Grampians Shire mayor Kevin Erwin said he was excited to see the mural hanging beside the skate park.
“The skate park plays such a crucial role in our community,” he said.
“I see first hand how popular it is and how it helps kids keep active and away from any trouble.”
