75 players took to the course in perfect conditions for golf to play a 3 person Texas Ambrose. Many woman dressed in a Christmas theme and the overall atmosphere was one of fun and festivity.
The golf was serious, however, and results were extremely tight with less than one stroke separating the three top teams.
The winning combination of Lyn Willcock, Judy Clayton and Jo Orr, from Stawell, finished with 71 - 9 ⅔ - 61 ⅓.
The team of Tricia Martin, Joan Fraser (Beaufort) and Gemma Howell (Avoca) had to be content
with runners-up honours from their score of 71 - 9½ - 61 ½.
Chris Dohnt, Marg Brehaut and Sandi Shaw, representing the locals, scored 73 – 11 – 62 and filled the third spot.
Nearest the Pin honours for visiting golfers were claimed by Rhoda McAllister, Leeanne Ritchie, Jo Orr, Gemma Howell and Jan Laidlaw.
For the Chalambar ladies, these were claimed by Marg Brehaut, Goldie Rowe , Penny Brown and Marilyn Brady who won two.
Marg Brehaut’s nearest the pin on the second hole created great excitement as it was a hole in one, her first ever.
