The upcoming season will be O’Callaghan’s second season representing the league.
O’Callaghan made the move to Ballarat and now plays at North Ballarat while boarding at Claredon College.
She is currently winding down from the netball season, after a successful first year at North Ballarat.
The bottom aged under-17 player was a contributor to the team who claimed the minor premiership.
“We then went on to win a thriller of a grand final, by one point,” she said.
O’Callaghan said netball has been a good way to make the integration to Ballarat easier.
“Because I was new to Ballarat, by playing interleague I’ve met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends, not just at school and my club,” she said.
After what has been a very busy year, O’Callaghan was given the opportunity this year to try her hand at a new sport, rowing.
“It’s pretty intense but it’s a lot of fun. It’s a good way to wind down from netball,” she said.
O’Callaghan will now turn her attention to get into a senior squad of Ballarat North after recent tryouts last week.
“I should find out about that very soon,” she said.
Stawell’s Dakota Cosson was named as a training partner with the interleague side.
Training partners are welcome at training any time, but will not play at tournaments unless called upon.
