The long-running annual event will celebrate the 24th year this Saturday in Stawell.
Boasting a prize pool of more than $15,000, the event is drawing in a number of competitors from across the country.
Event promoter Ahmet Sehirligil said many Victorian competitors have requested an event closer to home after competing or visiting the Sydney based event.
“People approached us and informed us of the Stawell Motorsport Club’s Burnout Pad. We’ve had a really good response so far and it’s set up to be a great day,” he said.
“The club president Russel has been very hospitable and a real gentleman to deal with.”
Stawell’s Riley Rathgeber has entered his burnout vehicle, a 2000 Holden Commodore.
The number plate is ‘VILE’ and it will feature in the premier event, pro-top gun burnout with a $10,000 first prize.
“I’m really pumped. It’s always a great build up to the event to make sure everything is ready,” he said.
Mr Rathgeber said he is very fortunate to have the support of his employer, Peter Baker from Baker’s Automotive heading into the competition.
“I am a mechanic and my dad along with Jake Patterson has been a tremendous help along the way,” he said.
“I’ve grown up all my life around cars. From drag racing to car sports and now into burnouts.
“I do all the services on the car at my work and lucky to have a very supportive boss.”
Mr Rathgeber said he is looking forward to the event being hosted in his hometown.

“I know of people coming from Adelaide and Melbourne to compete. It’s a real social event and I love going to catch up with everyone with the same interests,” he said.
“Competitions like this aren’t just for the car enthusiast. Many people come up and ask about different things on the cars or how and why we do things a certain way.
“It’s great to share my knowledge with others and I have learnt a lot along the way as well.”
Mr Sehirligil said visitors to the event can expect to be immersed in the sounds of thumping horsepower.
“The best of the best Pro Class, Modified, Street and the Young Gunz burnout cars will be competing on the day,” he said.
Action begins at 10am and runs until late.
