Swifts Football Netball Club has secured the services of former Warriors’ Todd Matthews and Ben Leong for the upcoming season.
Coach Scott Carey said he was excited with the aspects Matthews can bring to the team.
“He has great leadership qualities both on and off the field,” he said.
“He is a key position player and will be great to have the experience of Todd in our back line.
“The calm under pressure is something we were lacking with the younger side last year in some of our closer games last year.”
“Leong has joined some of his mates at the club and he will be a huge asset to us as he is a hard at the ball type player,” he said.
Carey is also working with two employees of the wind farm and is very close to officially announcing their commitment in 2019.
“Dylan Johns and Luke Chenoweth have expressed an interest at coming over the club,” he said.
“Dylan played for Orange last season in a premiership-winning side, he will be a great addition to the team.”
Carey said it was pleasing to see so many signings before the end of the year so the club can move in the right direction during pre-season.
“We are working with securing the services of an assistant coach and there are negotiations with other players,” he said.
“Both with the football and netball divisions we have people turning up and wanting to play for us and be a part of the club.
“It’s something we have been working on and it’s good to see it’s paying off.”
Carey said an announcement was also expected in the near future surrounding an assistant coach, after forward Andrew Cameron made a move to Great Western.
