Central Grampians Local Learning and Employment Network hosted the free event which included an Ararat Rotary barbecue, face paint and friendly competitions.
Participants came from Ballarat, Horsham and Melbourne for the free event.
Meanwhile, Ararat Dance Centre held its concert over the weekend.
The seventh annual concert was held over two days at the Ararat Town Hall, with a performance on Saturday evening and another on Sunday afternoon.
The dancers performed classical ballet, neo, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop and musical theatre.
A total of 110 students performed, with students coming from Beaufort, Halls Gap and Ararat surrounds.
Principal Karly Harris said both concerts were nearly sold out.
“Both shows had over 200 patrons. 243 is the capacity (of the hall) so it was pretty much just the balcony that wasn’t full,” she said.
Ms Harris said the feedback she has received from the two shows has all been positive
“People who have traveled to see our concert, and have been to lots of other concerts said how wonderful it was,” she said.
Ms Harris said the feedback included praise for the variety of the performances and the dancers’ costumes.
The Ararat Car Club also had a busy weekend, with motor enthusiasts taking part in the Ararat Hill Climb.
About 60 drivers went to One Tree Hill on the outskirts of Ararat and competed for best time to the top of the hill.
Mirko Grbic was first place in the outright results with a best time of 41.08 seconds.
