Youth Club will travel to Pomonal again to try to hold the home team to as little runs as possible.
The Clubbers managed to claim four of Pomonal’s wickets in the second innings having already won the first innings points.
Pomonal currently sits on 32 runs, trailing by 14 runs.
Youth Club captain Nic Baird said the team will be looking to get the early wickets on Saturday.
“We will go out with a positive attitude and put some pressure on Pomonal. We are looking like we will be pretty settled with the side and possibly going in unchanged,” he said. Pomonal could have a tough decision to make if they can steady and continue to bat throughout the day. The question will be when to declare to send the Clubbers back in knowing the strengths of their batting line up.
Pomonal’s Luke Jordan will continue to bat – currently on 16 runs.
The Clubbers will be looking to pinch the points this week in their bid to try and hold onto top spot from Swifts-Great Western.
Swifts-Great Western are vying for the 10 points in their clash with Halls Gap.
After declaring at 5-225, bowling the Gappers out for 57 and sending them in to bat again, the Combine looks to be in a good position going into the conclusion of round three.
The Gappers are currently on 3-66 with Charlie McIntosh and Joseph Martin to continue the second innings.
Captain Sam Cocks said the team will have some changes on Saturday.
“We will have some like-for-like changes. A couple of bowlers out and a couple of bowlers in. This should work in our favour and give us some fresh bowlers that Halls Gap hasn’t had a look at,” he said.
Cocks said the plan would be to go in an attempt to get the seven wickets early and avoid batting again. “We will be trying our hardest to get the 10 points,” he said.
Buangor-Tatyoon will be assessing the side after training during the week to see what changes are made going up against St Andrews in day two.
Buangor-Tatyoon Captain Michael Harricks said he knows of some unavailability from players but assessment of ins and outs won't be made until the last minute.
“We will make a decision based on a number of variables. The availability of players, the upcoming weather and what the pitch could do during the week,” he said.
St Andrews only managed 52 runs through 52.2 overs in their first innings while Buangor-Tatyoon currently sits on 4-78.
