Organisers hailed the race a huge success.
Halls Gap Cricket Club member Neil McIntosh said the race was in its fifth year.
“We got the idea from other towns and thought it was a great idea to host something like this in Stoney Creek,” he said.
Halls Gap is visited by many tourists over the Melbourne Cup long weekend each year. Mr McIntosh said it was the clubs biggest fundraiser of the year.
“We use the money raised to go towards costs associated to running the cricket club. Not only is it a great fundraiser for the club it’s a fun family friendly event,” he said.
