Club captain Richard Hackwill said the pre-entries had been pleasing.
“Our Saturday and Tuesday competitions are filling up fast. Tee times for the competition on Tuesday have begun to fill up and I encourage everyone to express their interest in playing so we can make the day run smoothly,” he said.
On Friday, golfers can participate in four-ball, best ball with a men’s and women’s division.
The annual 27-hole competition will start at 9.30am on Saturday with golfers also able to enter an 18-hole men’s or women’s event from 12.30pm.
Golfers will partner up for Sunday in a mixed pinehurst, starting at 11am.
Historically, Tuesday was the biggest day of the tournament with golfers competing in a three-person ambrose – with men’s, women’s and mixed divisions.
Hackwill said the course was in great condition.
“We will be monitoring the course closely due to the warm weather coming up this week. Members have been working hard at recent working bees, getting the course into a fantastic condition for all of our visitors,” he said.
Golfers will try their luck for a luxury golf package for two at the Bellarine Peninsula if successful at obtaining a hole-in-one on the sixth hole.
Tiny Smith has issued a challenge to golfers in the women’s division and is offering $100 for a hole-in-one the 17th hole.
The traditional “win a putter for nearest-to-pin on the ninth hole” competition will be on again for the duration of the tournament.
Hackwill said people interested in entering the tournament, or wanting more information, could contact him through the club or Facebook.
