A highlight this year will be the long-awaited return of woodchopping to the show, with a demonstration by the Wimmera Axemen’s Association.
Other new attractions at the show will include children’s entertainer Waldo the Magician, live music from African percussion group Super Mande Percussion, and the Carisbrook Lions Club train for the little ones.
Following last year’s successful debut, Stawell Performing Arts Company will again operate a Walk Up Stage Open Mic event.
This will offer local talent the opportunity to perform in front of a live and appreciative crowd.
Other popular attractions include the Halls Gap Zoo interactive exhibit, Barn Buddies Petting Farm, Grampians Laser Challenge games, mechanical bull rides, Irene’s cartoon portraits, and a Findlay Fairground Organ.
Traditional attractions to return to the show this weekend include the horse show, hall classes, photography section, lucky gate prizes, sheaf tossing, ferret racing, schools displays, tiny tots and show girls, beaut ute, car and motorbike competition, highland dancing, animal nursery and miniature goat show.
Gates open at 9am and close at 5pm.
Organisers said people wanting more details could visit the Stawell Show website or contact the secretary on 0400 549 613.
