The competition took place at Mount Gambier across Saturday and Sunday with Victoria Country winning back the shield after two losses in a row.
Grover said it was a great contest with Victoria Country snatching a win in the dying stages.
“Our captain Brett Kellow won four of his last holes to clinch the win for us,” he said.
“As a Victorian team we sent off our manager John Snowden, who is from Mortlake, in style. It was his last one after being involved for more than 20 years.”
Grover and Coffey had solid individual performances. The Wimmera contingent teamed up on Saturday morning for a win in Foursomes.
“We had a good weekend and Tim played really well and won all three of his games,” Grover said.
“I won with Tim on Saturday and then had two really narrow losses.
“It was a great result to get the trophy back for Victoria and the greens were fantastic and awesome to play on.”
