The National Volunteer Awards recognise the many individual volunteers who make outstanding contributions to the local community and acknowledge organisations with innovative models of volunteering.
The Australian Government Sport Awards recognise outstanding sporting performances, achievements, and contributions from community members.
“These community awards were about recognising our community members who have gone above and beyond in their service to the community either through their volunteering or sporting achievements,” Wannon MP Dan Tehan said.
“These awards are not given out lightly and choosing the winners is one of the toughest jobs I have each year.”
The Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards ceremony will be hosted in Ararat during November.
Nominations close on Monday, October 15 and can be made by calling 1300 131 692 or downloading the form from the link here.
