There were no excuses for school children to say they were bored during the first week of school holidays, with plenty of community activities available to keep them entertained.

The break between terms three and four commenced on Monday, with holidays running until October 8 when the final term of the school year will get underway.
Stawell Neighbourhood House introduced a new and unconventional activity on Tuesday, hosting a hip-hop dancing day.
School children of all ages participated, learning a variety of hip-hop dance moves taught by professionals from Existdance.
The team of teachers from Ballarat, as well as Stawell’s Connor Williams, taught more than 30 eager children the basics of hip-hop dancing in a fun and welcoming environment.
“It was really really good, the feedback we received was great,” Stawell Neighbourhood House coordinator Lisa Arnfield said.
“Some of the kids were really shy at the start of the day but by the end they were jumping around and dancing with everyone else which was amazing.”
Another popular option has been the pop-up bike track at Cato Park, with the sunny weather making it a great attraction for young families.
There were also plenty of other activities available in Stawell, including the annual Stawell Skate Park Day also on Tuesday.
The event, organised by Central Grampians LLEN, had youngsters enjoying scooting, BMX and skating.
The day was jammed packed with demonstrations from the Havoc Pro Scooter Team and Al Bogut also provided demonstrations and mentoring to beginners.
“The weather was perfect. We had families from outside the region travel to Stawell to enjoy the free skate park day, there were showbags and prizes for everyone to take home on the day,” business manager Shelly Chalmers said.
