Hendy signed on as coach in January for the 2018 season and will now be looking to start preparing for the upcoming season.
The Grasshoppers surged late in the 2018 season, winning their way through to the preliminary finals.
Navarre president Cory Hope said the club is looking forward to consolidating on the foundations Hendy has put in place.
“Kyle will be able to start preparations earlier than last year which will enable him to shape his side. We will be a couple of months in advance than where we were last year,” he said.
Hope said the club made a clear decision to resign Hendy for the upcoming season.
“We are really impressed with his preparation and how he conducted himself as a person,” he said.
Hendy has completed football at a high level which Hope said his experience was evident throughout the season.
“The way he developed and took junior players under his wing was really good,” he said.
Hendy will be joined by former Stawell Warriors coach Brad Cassidy as he undertakes a new role as director of coaching at the club.
“Brad will bring his experience and knowledge to the club and help all football coaches,” Hope said.
Hope said Cassidy will have a role on game day, more overseeing on the bench and mentoring Hendy.
“The club is really excited to have someone of Brad’s caliber on board. Someone with his experience doesn’t come along very often,” he said.
Hendy said he was looking forward to working with Cassidy and tap into his wealth of knowledge.
“Brad brings a lot of experience to the club and I am looking forward to working with him on some different and fresh ideas,” he said.
Recruitment for footballers is underway at Navarre and Hendy said the club are working to secure players for the new season.
“We want to have a great pre-season so we hope to maintain all players from the 2018 season, recruit a few, to create more depth within the team,” he said.
