The 27-year-old surrendered himself to police at Lilydale on Thursday, September 20 where he was arrested.
“The man went to ground for 10 days but in that time read a posting in the newspaper and has since surrendered himself,” St Arnaud Sergeant Bill Alford said.
The man was remanded in custody and will appear in court in January.
On September 10 the man was allegedly involved in a single-vehicle collision, crashing into a fence on Bowen Street, St Arnaud and sustaining back injuries.
An ambulance was called and the man allegedly assaulted a paramedic, pushing her into a fence and spitting in her face.
The paramedic sustained minor injuries.
The man then allegedly proceeded to damage the windows of a residential property before leaving the scene.
