Mrs Hoffmann set the challenge at the Horsham District league club that should any senior netball teams, “especially A Grade”, advance to the finals she would shave her head.
After a successful season on the netball court, Mrs Hoffmann said she knew she would have to follow through with the bold statement.
“As the teams were winning more games, I thought I would add in the opportunity to raise money for a local charity,” she said.
Mrs Hoffmann chose the charity, The Andy Mann Foundation, because she said money raised helped people in the area who were experiencing financial difficulties while undergoing cancer treatment.
“A friend of mine went through treatment a few years ago. I wish a foundation like this was in place to help her,” she said.
Blair Clayton won the auction for the official shave after netballers and other club members snipped a pony tail.
