McRoberts had a stellar season, polling 15 votes to finish just five behind the winners in the Toohey Medal count.
“It was a pretty up and down year. I thought I started pretty well but I hurt my hammy at the end of the season,” he said.
Had it not been for his hamstring issue, McRoberts could have had a good chance at winning the Toohey medal to go with his rookie of the year award.

McRoberts returned to the Warriors on a regular basis this season, having been in the Rebels TAC Cup squad the last few years.
“It was good to be playing with the boys the whole year rather than being in and out,” he said.
Minyip-Murtoa’s Jordan Delahunty took out the rising star award for best first year player.
