Horsham’s Ryan Kemp, Warrack Eagles’ Nicholas Peters and Ararat’s Daniel Mendes have all tied for the league’s best and fairest medal on 20 votes.
Horsham playing coach Deek Roberts finished second on 16 votes despite from round 14 with a broken leg.
Stawell’s Naish McRoberts and Horsham Saints coach Luke Fisher finished equal third on 15 votes.
McRoberts won the best under-21 player.
All three medallists played finals football this season, with Kemp set to feature for the Demons in this weekend’s grand final against the Giants.
Kemp had a fantastic season up forward for the minor premiers, and led the league for goal scoring with 71 goals.
“Coming down to the last three rounds we didn’t even know who was in the top four,” Kemp said.
“Deek would have had it sown up if he kept playing, but I’m happy to be up here.”
Peters returned to the Warrack Eagles this season after spending time in the Victorian Football League and then Ballarat Football League.
Peters had an immediate impact in his first season back in the Wimmera as one of the best midfielders in the league.
Peters was not in attendance on the evening.
Meanwhile, Mendes has travelled from Melbourne alongside his brother Nicholas to play for the Rats since 2016 after first playing for the club in 2014.
He said Ararat has been a great club to play for.
“Obviously the result didn’t go our way on Sunday but all the best to the boys playing on the weekend, that’s what we want to do, but it’s a great honour to win the medal,” he said.
“Ararat has been a great club to me and have only had my best interest at heart. I’ve loved the club and am looking forward to having some success.”
