Linda Maher hits career first hole-in-one, Ken Reid wins monthly medal

Richard Hackwill presents Linda Maher with her hole-in-one award
Linda Maher had the shock of a lifetime when her shot of the tee of Stawell Golf Club’s 17th hole found itself all the way in the hole for her first ever hole-in-one.
Playing on Saturday, Maher made the shot of her second last hole of the day after a “pretty average game” on the previous holes.
Maher said it was a shock to find the ball in the cup upon approaching the green.
“I didn't really see it, the other girls I was playing with said they thought it was going to the hole,” she said.
“I was looking for the ball because I thought I had missed completely but that was when the other girls called out they had found it in the hole.
“I didn't think it would have a hope in heaven of getting there.”
It was Maher’s first ever hole-in-one in more than 30 years of playing golf.
“It was just a bit of luck but I am pretty happy to say I have one now,” she said.
