Playing on their home ground, the Rats’ 14s team took care of Horsham Demons 65 to 20.
The Demons beat the Rats in round 16 of the home and away season, but found the going tough at Alexandra Oval.
It was an even affair in the first quarter, with both teams struggling to hit the scoreboard.
But the Rats came out firing in the second, kicking four goals to Horsham’s one to be up by 22 at the main break.
The Demons could only manage one more goal for the match as the Rats ran away with it.
Henry Shea and Flynn Toner were the best players for the Rats, while Jett Hopper and Brody Thomas Pope battled hard for the Dees.
It was a different story in the under 17s, where the Demons started the better of the two teams.
Horsham was leading the match at quarter-time by 14 points, but Ararat soon turned things around with a six-goal second term.
The Rats kept the Demons to two goals in the second half, while continuing to hit the scoreboard themselves.
The final score was 79-48.
Matthew Spalding and Alex Asuncion were named the Rats’ best.
Brayden Gebert and Jacob Glare led the way for Horsham.
