Residents will have a chance to view the work created by year 11 and 12 students.
Work on display between September 13 and 23 ranges from studio arts, visual communication design, product design technology, systems engineering and textiles.
VCE co-ordinator Millie Francis said the work of 31 students was on display.
“Year 12 students are displaying their artwork for assessment for VCE,” she said.
Ms Francis said the opening night of the exhibition gave students a chance to showcase their work – for many for the first time.
“The exhibition is the only public display for the students to get publicly recognition for their artwork,” she said.
The Next Gen exhibit at the art gallery in Ballarat will have curators present to view the gallery.
“A student has been selected the last two years to showcase their artwork in Ballarat amongst the top rural kids in the western district,” she said.
