The program ensures quality glasses and sunglasses are delivered to people in need overseas.
Chairman of Lions Recycle for Sight, Ken Leonard OAM said “Over the past 26 years, we’ve delivered more than seven million pairs of refurbished quality glasses to people in need all around the world.”
Specsavers Stawell, co-owner Michael Peter said he was shocked when he found out how many people are going blind in impoverished communities around the world, simply because people don’t have access to glasses.
“Blindness and vision impairments are so much worse in third world countries because they can mean the difference between people being able to have a job and feed their family, or not,” he said.
Mr Peter said glasses can be dropped in to the Stawell branch of Specsavers.
