The Baggies’ under-14 side defeated Taylors Lake in a gripping game of football. The sides were even at the first two breaks before the Baggies broke away in the third term. Taylors weren’t out of the game, and trailed by two goals heading into the final quarter.
The Lakers finished strong but the Baggies were able to hold on for a one-goal win, 8.2 (50) to 7.2 (44), to book a grand final spot.
The 17-and-under netball side also competed on Saturday but fell short in a close contest. Taking on Natimuk United on its home court, the Baggies were impressive early on, leading at the first break.
The Ewes got on top following that term, breaking away to hold a slight lead they did not let go of. They held on 29-26 in a hard-fought match.
The Baggies will face Harrow-Balmoral in a preliminary final on Saturday.
