Hosting Horsham Demons at Central Park, the Warriors took it up to the visitors in a high-scoring first term.
“We ran right with them early on. It is nice to know we can match it with the best sides even if for just a quarter,” Stawell goal attack Jemma Clarkson said.
The Demons were able to run over the top of Stawell in the next three terms, going on to win 81-37.
“Even though the scoreline wasn’t great we played a really good game,” Clarkson said.
“The girls have come a long way since the start of the season and improved a lot.”

Warriors mid-court player Jade Cross celebrated a big milestone on Saturday, playing her 300th club game.
She moved into attack for part of the final quarter, managing seven goals to remember her milestone match by.
“Jade isn’t the tallest of players so it was a bit of a dream to go forward and score some goals. She absolutely loved it,” Clarkson said.
“She was still able to use her skills so well. She is the best wing attack I have ever played with.”
The Warriors finished eighth on the A Grade ladder, winning two games this season – a huge improvement on a winless 2017.
“It took us a little while to find our feet positionally this year. We tried some different combos until we found the ones that worked,” Clarkson said. “We have developed a lot as a team and I think we will get keep improving next season.”
