The Rams needed to win and win they did at their home ground, finishing sixth for the second season in a row.
The home side got off to a flying start to get their hopes of victory right up, jumping out to a 29-point lea at quarter-time.
Jaydon Stiles booted five of his six goals for the game early on with the wind to contribute to the lead.
The Baggies hit back in the second term with the breeze to their advantage but still trailed by 10 points despite having the same amount of scoring shots as Natimuk United.
It was in the third term that the game was blown apart, with the Rams booting six goals with 15 scoring shots to extend the margin to 48 points going into the final term.
The Rams kicked just one goal in the final term but it did not matter as they recorded win number seven for the season to book a spot in the finals.
The Rams finished ahead 14.15 (99) to 8.10 (58).
Swifts coach Scott Carey said his team took too long to adapt to the conditions.
“We couldn’t adapt to the conditions quick enough. There was a nice breeze there and they utilised that better than we could,” he said.
“We just didn’t make the most of our opportunities early which meant the pressure snowballed as the game went on.
“They played a better brand of footy on the day.”
Andrew Cameron continued his good form playing deeper forward for Swifts with another three majors.
Carey said despite a lack of winning form going into the finals he is not too concerned.
“There are no concerns just yet, we just need to focus in on our game plan,” he said.
“The loss has highlighted a few things in the way off us wanting the ball and playing team football that we need to work on.
This week everything is on the line

“They were playing a higher level in those areas than us and we need to use that as an example.”
The Baggies recorded no major injuries from Saturday’s game, with just small niggles here and there.
“I am confident I won’t have to make any forced changes due to injury. Having the extra day off to play on Sunday helps too,” he said.
“The home and away season is all about qualifying for finals and we have been able to do that, now the serious stuff begins.
“This week everything is on the line. I hope we can bring our best and take it right up to the Saints.”
Swifts will take on Edenhope-Apsley at Rupanyup on Sunday in an elimination final.
