Congratulations to the other three coaches Blake Swain, Brett Gay, Scott Rathgeber and assistants, all teams have shown great progression from mid-April until now due to your leadership and dedication.
To my Maggies boys and girls, your commitment to each other and the way you demonstrate team play each week is the reason you’ve had great success, remaining undefeated two years in a row.
Hopefully your efforts will be rewarded with back-to-back premierships.
To the committee and helpers who make sure that this amazing competition keeps evolving every year, hold your heads high you do a fabulous job.
It was a privilege to be involved in the 2018 Turner-Tuckey football challenge, a game between top aged players from Stawell and Ararat.
We were fortunate enough this year to bring home the shield (the first time since 2012), a great achievement by all of the kids who participated.
Hopefully common sense will prevail, and this little competition won’t be harmed by decisions made from higher Wimmera football authorities, as changes could be detrimental to the association’s survival.
It is important to support and encourage junior football participation as it creates a pathway for future football development in Stawell and the surrounding areas.
Good luck to all grand finalists.GO MAGGIES, BACK-TO-BACK!
