Stawell’s A Grade team can call themselves winners for the second time this season, taking care of Southern Mallee Giants at home.
It was a battle of the two bottom teams, with the winner likely to avoid the wooden spoon for finishing on the bottom of the ladder.
In a show of just how far they have come this season the Warriors led at every break to win 30-41.
They got off to the perfect start, leading 13-10 at the first break before extending the lead to eight by half-time.

The Giants hit back in the third term, moving within six goals to keep the pressure on Stawell.
The home side was able to step up to the task, putting in one of their best quarters of the year in the fourth term. They scored 20 of their own goals while keeping the Giants to just seven.
Experienced goal attack Jemma Clarkson continued her good form, with both herself and shooter Dakota Cosson finishing with 30 goals each. Ebony Summers was once again reliable in defence.
The Warriors jumped to seventh with the win.
