The annual Indigenous round spectacle between Taylors Lake and Swifts continued to grow at the weekend, with a great celebration being held at Dock Lake Reserve.

A welcome to country and smoking ceremony were held before the annual Indigenous round match, with both teams lining up for a “special moment”.
“It was really amazing. It was a bit of an eye opener and just good to be amongst something like that,” Carey said.
“Taylors Lake did a great job hosting it this year.”
Swifts won the Djab Wurrung and Jarwadjali Marngrook shield against the Lakers.

“We were extremely happy with how it played out. The weather affected some of our activities and we didn't get the flags painted on the oval because of the rain but that was a minor thing,” Taylors Lake president Tammy McDonald said.
“Players and spectators were impressed with the official ceremony and the welcome to country and dancing ceremony.
“From a Taylors Lake point of view we would have liked the senior game to be a bit closer but that wasn’t to be.
“It was great to host it for the first time and we look forward to seeing the Swifts grow it next year and for us to keep rotating and growing the game in the future.
