TRAFFIC will be distrupted in Stawell due to streetscaping works in Main Street.
Victoria Place will be closed for the duration of the first stage of the project, which runs from August 6 to 29, however vehicles can still access and drive through Main Street.
Car parking from St Georges Street to Wimmera Street will also be affected, due to construction of a new footpath.
A section of the Albion carpark near the Scallan Street public toilets will be closed off for the duration of the project.
Northern Grampians Shire Council mayor Tony Driscoll said there would be a bit of pain and inconvenience.
“As the old adage goes, to make an omelette you need to break a few egg shells, but we think it’s a small price to pay for the magnificent enhancement the streetscapes are going to make to Main Street,” he said.
