The biennial awards aim to promote business excellence and showcase the diversity of businesses in the region.
Along with the coveted Business of the Year award – which Laharum’s Australian Wildflowers won in 2016 – businesses and their staff will compete for 14 other awards.
These include People’s Choice and Employee of the Year awards, both new categories in 2018.
Wimmera Development Association executive director Ralph Kenyon said the awards were like a “free health check” for businesses.
Association project officer Bonnie Severin encouraged businesses to enter at least one category. She said people could visit www.wda.org.au/business-awards for application forms.
Nominations close on July 30 and winners will be announced on September 5 at the Wimmera Events Centre at Longerenong.
The awards are open to businesses in Horsham Rural City and Northern Grampians, Hindmarsh, Yarriambiack and West Wimmera shires.
