The teams will meet in round 12 of the Mininera District Netball Association after a bye round last week.
The Hawks go into Saturday’s game as clear favourites, having easily dealt with the Eagles once already this season.
Ararat has been a much-improved team this season but could find it tough on the road against a strong Hawks outfit.
Genesis Rameka has been a standout for the Eagles in her switch from goal keeper to goal shooter.
The Hawks have won 10 from 11 games this season by an average of 33 goals and hold the highest percentage of the senior sides thanks to their focus on offensive play and applying defensive pressure across the court.
With just six games remaining they will be hoping to chase down ladder leaders Woorndoo-Mortlake who are one-game clear at the current time.
Finals spot on the line for Pumas | Penshurst v Moyston-Willaura @ Penshurst
The Pumas can give themselves a big boost towards a top five spot with an upset win against Penshurst on Saturday.
Playing away from home, the seventh-placed Pumas can move within one game of the top-five if they defeat the Bombers on the road.
History is on Penshurt’s side, winning the corresponding game by 11 goals back in round one.
Magpies’ chance to create vital buffer | Wickliffe-Lake Bolac v Lismore-Derrinallum @ Lake Bolac
The Magpies take on Lismore-Derrinallum in one of the A Grade games of the round this weekend.
Wickliffe-Lake Bolac fell short against the Demons in round one but have found form to sit in fourth place, one game clear of this weekend’s opponents.
The Demons won 40-34 earlier in the season over Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.
Saturday’s outcome could have big finals ramifications, with the loser of the match right in the danger zone of missing the top five.
The Magpies have a chance to put a two game gap between them and the Demons to create a crucial buffer with only six games remaining.
Sides evenly matched | SMW Rovers v Hawkesdale-Macarthur @ Mininera
Saturday’s match between SMW Rovers and Hawkesdale-Macarthur will be one of the more evenly contested matches of the round.
Both sides have had positive moments throughout the season but failed to put it together on a consistent basis, winning just six games between them.
Rovers lost by 19 goals to the Eagles in round one.
