Ararat Live and the Ararat Rural City Council have again joined together to celebrate NAIDOC Week by bringing a new and exciting young performer to Ararat on July 4.
Alice Skye will perform at the Ararat Hotel’s Red Room commencing at 8pm.
Celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
The non-profit group Ararat Live was excited to be able to bring a mix of cultures and genres for the enjoyment of music lovers to Ararat.
22-year-old singer songwriter Alice Skye is a Wergaia woman who grew up living aside the majesty of the Grampians, just up the road in Horsham, and was not short of songwriting inspiration.
Still inspired by her roots, Alice now calls Melbourne home and says “I take great pride in my heritage and to combine both music and my background brings me an unexplainable amount of pride and happiness.”
