The Grasshoppers gave up an early three-goal lead and despite hitting back in the second and third terms, could not stop Lexton staying in front.
The home-side booted the last five goals of the game to win 12.10 (82) to 11.6 (72).
“It was probably our best win of the season so far,” Navarre coach Kyle Hendy said.
“Going into the fourth they kicked some early goals which made it harder but no one gave up.
“We knew we had what it took to run over them at the end.”
Hendy said a focus on defense helped his side across the line.
“Early on we let them run forward hard and we were chasing into our backline,” he said.
“We became more physical around the ball and at stoppages and used the overlap run a bit more as well to get across the line.
“It was a great team effort.”
Kris Brennan booted four goals in the win while Sam Kaye, Nicholas Murphy and Josh Fowkes were among the top players for Navarre.
The Grasshoppers are clinging onto sixth spot after the win.
