The foundation stone of what is now the Uniting Church in Scallan Street, Stawell was laid on May 21, 1868.
The building was completed in 1868 but was officially opened in April 1869, the year the spire was completed.
To celebrate turning 150 in Stawell, the church is planning a number of events throughout the year, including a special baptism this Sunday.
On June 24 the church will also display articles associated with the church and people with have the opportunity to share their memories of the church.
The 150th celebrations will be held on June 24 to coincide with the 41st anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia’s inauguration.
