The Tigers and Grasshoppers respectively sit in eighth and ninth on the Maryborough Castlemaine District Netball League ladder, with just percentage separating the two teams.
“They sit just above us so it should be a really good game,” Navarre coach Krystal Browne said.
“We are looking forward to the tussle that it will probably be.”
Navarre will look to bounce back from a disappointing performance last weekend against Harcourt. The Hoppers went down by more than 50 goals after winning their last four matches prior to that.
“We will be looking to start strong and find some consistency after a pretty poor effort last weekend,” Browne said.
“It was hard to watch last week after the success we have had in the last month. We will look to reset.”
Jess Parry and Georgia McDermott return to the team this weekend in a big boost for the A Grade side.
Browne said with a full roster she expects a better effort from her side.
“We have a full compliment this week with a big boost on our attacking end,” she said.
”Those girls are leaders in our team so it is nice to have them back.”
More than four points are on the line this weekend for both sides, with a deep rivalry burning between the two clubs.
Browne said it is nice to face a side with some history between them.
“They are neighbours in a sense which helps create an increased sense of rivalry,” she said.
“It is nice to have that history against them. While we are rivals there is also a good friendship and respect between the clubs as well which should make for a great day.”
