More tight contests were fought out on Monday at the second last round of the Women’s Day Basketball season.

The Great Western Shoppe and Sneek-A-Peek battled it out in the first match of the day.
Great Western opened up the match strongly, scoring 20-8 in the first half, with Amy Yole putting up 14 points.
Yole switched teams in the second half, helping Sneek-A-Peek to come back and win the second half but go down 35-26. Natalie Marshall was strong for the losing side, scoring 10 points.
The second match between Foster’s Mens and Ladies wear and Ricksteel Fabrications was also a game of two halves.
Ricksteel started the stronger of the two sides, opening up with an 18-10 lead by half-time.
Foster’s came back, winning the second half 20-17 but it was not enough, falling short 35-30. Lauren Hughes (12 points) and Jess Hodder (14 points) were the standouts from the game.
The day basketball season will finish up next Monday, before returning in mid-July.
