The Warriors kicked 5.15 (45) to 1.0 (6) to secure fifth place on the ladder at the end of the home-and-away season.
The win was Stawell’s fourth in a row.
Saints coach Mat Taylor said the Warriors showed great sportsmanship, assisting his side with numbers.
“We have to give full credit to Stawell, they played a great game and loaned us some players for the day,” he said.
“We were very thankful for that as we were a bit short.
“We probably played our best team game for the year.”
The whole league will meet on Sunday at Hamilton for position play offs. The Saints will face Timboon for ninth place, Horsham (4th) will play Portland (3rd) and Stawell (5th) will meet Old Collegians (6th).
