Stawell has won just one second half so far this year, scoring an average of just 27 points in those five games and being kept goalless in two of those halves.
Stawell coach Jamie Solyom said it is an issue neither he or his players can work out.
“It is really a guessing game at the moment, we can’t put our finger on why it is happening,” he said.
“It is a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde situation. We start really well but we come out in the second half and we are just a different side.
“It is pretty frustrating because we have been competitive early in every match. It is almost as if we think we have done enough and then stop after the break.”
The Warriors were competitive in the last weekend’s game against the Southern Mallee Giants but fell away in the second-half once more, scoring just three behinds.
“We are competing in the first half and last weekend we should have been in front at half time,” Solyom said.
“I don’t think it is a fitness issue – it is more mental for us I think.”
Stawell will look to break the habit when they host a rested Warrack Eagles side coming off the bye.
“One of our goals for the season is to beat a side higher on the ladder than us and we have a chance this weekend,” Solyom said.
“When I was playing I loved playing at Central Park. It is a great ground and the atmosphere in front of the home crowd is amazing. Hopefully we can turn up and put in a good performance.
“Our fans have been great for us once again this year.”

Stawell will once again be hoping Sean Mantell can overcome a persistent hamstring injury to take to Central Park on Saturday.
The Warriors’ 2017 best and fairest winner has managed just two matches this season.
“We should have a pretty similar side to last week, it just depends on how Sean (Mantell) pulls up at training on Thursday,” Solyom said.
“Everyone has pulled up alright from last weekend.”
