From there, the home extended its lead by half time to six goals, 21-15.

A goalless third term for the visitors all but put the result beyond doubt, as the margin stretched out to 17 at the final break.

The Rats scored seven goals in the final quarter but it was not enough, losing 22-44.

Ararat goal shooter Tahnee Walker led the scoring for the visitors with 15, supported by Racquel Scott who was moved to goal attack in the final term who netted five.

Defenders Rebecca Skrabl and Krystal Fisher were named the Rats best on court in the round six loss.

The loss leaves Ararat in fourth position.
