The Hawks came close to their first win, pushing the Bulldogs until the final quarter but falling short by eight points.
They led by one-goal at half-time but could not hit the scoreboard after the main break.
The second match also saw an early challenge from the underdog, with the Tigers testing the undefeated Magpies.
The Tigers trailed by just four points at quarter-time but the Magpies were able to hold on and run away with a 53-point win.
After round five the Magpies sit undefeated in first place, while only percentage separates the Tigers and Bulldogs in second and third respectively.
The Hawks are in fourth.
The Tigers and Bulldogs will compete for second place when they face in round six on Friday May 25 while the Magpies will take on the Hawks.
