The Grampians Riding Club hosted round three of the series with the club receiving the maximum amount of entries possible, making for a jam-packed weekend of riding.
The competition is fairly even going into the final round at Great Western this weekend, with another full field expected to compete.
Grampians Riding Club treasurer and events secretary Kaye Clayfield said last weekend’s competition ran well and she is looking forward to another big turnout this weekend.
“Everyone has told us how well organised and well ran it was which means a lot,” she said.
“Myself and club president An Cerato have put in a lot to make this competition happen so to see it pay off is wonderful.
...the local economy has definitely benefited from this series

“The weather was fantastic last week so hopefully we get more of the same.” Cindy Francis and her horse King Chorus lead the advanced level with 603 points.
Kate Martin and horse Kellot Lodge Echo top the level one standings with 596 points.
Lauren Hughes, Marion McKenzie and Jenny Grayson are all not far back on 593, 585 and 581 points respectively. Katrina Scilini and Reservoir Road lead the level two with 591 points.
Tara Crowe and Lauren Kereber are tied on 564 points each in the level three while Montana Dickerson and Samantha Kelleher lead the fourth and fifth levels respectively.
Clayfield said there is still plenty on the line this weekend.
“The way the leaderboards are everyone will be spurred on to do their best,” she said.
This Sunday will be the fourth and final round of the 2018 series.
Clayfield said the event has been positive for both Great Western and the surrounding region.
“People have come from as far as Mount Gambier, so the local economy has definitely benefited from this series,” she said.
